All educational institutions in the country are to remain closed on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Education.
Education Secretary Sohrab Hossain said the ministry has taken the measure “for the safety of students.”
“All activities of all educational institutions will be closed on that day,” he said.
Following the death of two students on Dhaka's Airport Road on Sunday, hundreds of students from different schools and colleges have been demonstrating at different points of the capital demanding road safety for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday .
The government has assured students they will accept the 9-point demand of students and urged them to return to their homes.
