HSC question sets to be fixed 25 minutes before exams

Update : 25 Mar 2018, 08:14 PM
In a bid to prevent the leakage of question papers of the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations, the authorities have decided to send all sets of question scripts, prepared for a particular subject, to the test centres, and the set on which an exam will be conducted will be decided 25 minutes before the beginning of the exam. Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain disclosed the decision to the media on Sunday after a meeting on holding the examinations, at Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Dhaka will arrange a “lottery” to select the set, he said. All examinees will have to be present at their respective test centres at least 30 minutes prior to the start of a test. Replying to journalists’ queries about the leakage of question scripts of the just-concluded Secondary School Certificate examinations, Sohrab said: "No decision over cancelling the exams has been taken as yet. From next year, we'll introduce new methods of conducting public examinations.” Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, officials of different law enforcement agencies and education boards also attended the meeting.
