The government is planning to scrap multiple choice questions (MCQs) in public exams in phases, State Minister for Education Kazi Keramat Ali told the parliament on Monday.
“MCQs will be scrapped in phases. Then there will be no chance of question leaks,” he said during a motion of thanks to the president's address in the parliament on Monday.
The junior minister said: “A syndicate is trying to embarrass the government by leaking question papers. Some of them have already been detained.”

The Education Ministry is currently facing significant criticism, as every question paper has been leaked since the Secondary School Certificate and equivalent exams began on February 1. The government has taken a series of initiatives to prevent further question leaks, such as by making it mandatory for examinees to enter the exam halls 30 minutes before the test begins and by slowing internet speed two hours before the exam.
