Polls underway to elect JU registered graduates' representatives

Voting to elect representatives of the registered graduates to Jahangirnagar University's Senate is being held after 19 years. The registered graduates will elect 25 representatives to the Senate, the highest administrative authority of the university. The last registered graduates’ representative election was held on April 26, 1998. Voting began at 9am and will continue until 4pm. As many as 4,373 registered graduate voters will choose 25 representatives from among 119 candidates. Aspirants from two panels of ruling party Awami League, one panel of BNP and 44 independent candidates are vying for the posts.
