International Literacy Day observed by Manabik Shahajya Sangstha

Shishuder Jonno Integrated Child Development Programme of Manabik Shahajya Sangstha celebrated International Literacy Day to raise the awareness about the importance of education among under-privileged children of Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur and Rayer Bazar, located at Dhaka North City Corporation. Rayer Bazar, which is under the ward No 34, is the most deprived area of Dhaka North City Corporation as well as Chand Uddan. SJ-ICDP have different programmes like Early Childhood Care and Development, Basic Education, Health and Protection. All the programmes are for the development of the deprived children among the locality. At the beginning of the observation, the children and their parents participated in a rally from Aziz Khan road to Boishakhi playground. Then the chief guest Taher Khan, commissioner, ward No 34, Dhaka, inaugurated the programme and gave the welcoming speech. He wished a successful event that contributes towards building the digital Bangladesh, mandate of the government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Moreover, the district primary education officer of Dhaka Thana, education officer of Dhanmondi and Mohammadpur, senior manager of Education Save the Children and assistant director of Manabik Shahajya Sangstha gave their speech accordingly, describing the significance of observing International Literacy Day as well as the importance of education. Furthermore, there were also speeches from parent representatives and children representatives accordingly. They shared their feelings and talked about the significance of the day from their perspective.
