122 new seats for DU B unit admission test on Friday

Dhaka University (DU) has announced that its “Kha/B unit” first year honours admission test for the 2017-2018 academic session will be held on Friday, September 22, with 122 more seats available than last year. The hour-long test will begin at 10am at 70 different on and off-campus sites, said a DU press release on Thursday. A total 32,749 admission seekers are contesting 2,363 seats in the B Unit exams this year, averaging 13.86 candidates per seat. Last year, 34,606 admission seekers competed for 2,241 seats. Applicants are prohibited from carrying any electronic devices, including mobile phones or any other communication devices, during the exams. The seating plans for the tests can be found on the university’s admissions website. Candidates can also receive the seat plan through the DU admission SMS service by sending “DU” <space> “KHA” <space> “roll number” to 16321 from any mobile operator. Meanwhile, the drawing portion of the DU admission test for “Cha/E unit” will be held from 10am to 11:30am at the fine arts department of the university. The seat plan for the exam will be shown to students before they enter the exam hall. A total 1,552 applicants who were selected through ‘general knowledge’ test on September 16 will compete for 135 seats in the drawing test. This year, DU accepted 263,039 valid applications for 7,123 seats, after 277,715 applicants completed the initial registration for admission to the university.
