Over 21 applicants will compete against each seat at Barisal University in the undergraduate admission test for the first year’s 1st Semester honors courses under 2015-16 session.
The admission test of Kha and Ga units will be held on November,27.
The test of Gha and Ka units will be held on November, 28,
Md Faysal Mahmud Rumi, Public Relations Officer of the university said the committee for admission test had taken the decision at a meeting on Saturday last.
A total of 27,563 students applied for the admission tests against 1,300 seats under six faculties.
Of them, 7,323 will compete for 505 seats under Ka unit, 5,255 for 320 seats under Kha, 6,543 for 240 seats under Ga and 8,442 for 235 seats under Gha units.
There are 80 seats in Mathematics, 80 in Chemistry, 50 in Computer Science and Engineering, 80 in Soil and Environment Science, and 80 in Botany and Crop Science, 70 in Physics and 70 in Zoology, 70 in the Economics department, 70 in Political Science, 70 in Social Science, 70 in Public Administration, 70 in Bangla, 70 in English and 70 in Law,75 in Management Studies department, 75 in Marketing, 75 in Accounting and Information Systems and 75 in Finance and Banking under the business faculty.
Besides, 8,852 candidates under ‘Gha’ unit have applied for 235 seats reserved for the students who are willing to change subjects or faculties.
The test will be held at different points of permanent campuses of BU. The one-hour written test will be held in MCQ system with 120 marks; one must score a minimum of 48 scores in order to be eligible for passing the test.
There are an additional 80 marks reserved for a candidate’s performance in his or her SSC and HSC examinations.
The result of the test would be published as soon as possible through BU websites and its notice board.
The selection process would be held on the basis of marks obtained from the MCQ test as well as SSC and HSC results, BU sources said.
