The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has nominated 126 students for enrollment in different government medical and dental colleges.
The students selected were chosen from a waiting list or were transfer students from different institutions.
All the students have to complete admission formalities between October 31 and November 14, according to a notice issued yesterday and signed by Director (medical education and health human resource development) of DGHS M Abdur Rashid.
This year, a total of 48,484 students passed the admission test of medical colleges for academic session 2015-16. The pass rate was 58.4% for the MBBS and BDS courses.
Earlier, the DGHS had set October 17 as the admission deadline for students who passed the exams, but the delay came as it had to finalise the list after seats remained vacant due to failure of some students to admit themselves within the desired time of the institutions.
Following the situation, the DGHS finalised the list of 126 students from the waiting list and the first phase of migration list. If any student seeking migration fails to take admission in an institution within its stipulated time, their studentship from the both institutions will be cancelled, the notice read.
Medical admission seekers have been staging demonstrations across the country demanding the cancellation of the test results, alleging that the question papers were leaked.
