Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has agreed to be present at the ceremony to be held on the occasion of golden jubilee of Chittagong University in January next year.
She expressed the will when Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury paid a courtesy call on her at her office on Wednesday.
According to a press release issued by CU, Professor Iftekhar gave her an overall picture of the university including its atmosphere, achievements, problems faced by students and faculty members and future plans during the visit.
The vice-chancellor told the Dhaka Tribune that the prime minister had directed him to implement development projects centring CU.
