Update : 01 Aug 2015, 08:57 PM

After a 45-day vacation centring Eid-ul-Fitr, Ramadan and monsoon, the academic

activities of Chittagong University resumed yesterday.

When contacted, CU Deputy Registrar (Information and Photography) Md Farhad Hossain said the academic activities there resumed on the day after a long vacation of one and a half months.

However, presence of the students appeared thin on the opening day.

The shuttle train service, prime transport for the pupils between the campus and the port city, has became operational from Chittagong Railway Station as per the previous schedule as usual. Besides the residential students have started coming back to the dormitories ending the vacation.

CU Assistant Proctor Md Anwar Hossain Chowdhury told the Dhaka Tribune that additional policemen were deployed on the campus to prevent any possible clash, where many shuttle train-based groups remain active. The CU had gone on vacation on June 16.
