“Honourable Minister, we are but children. Why burden us with such difficult questions?” FacebookA fourth read:
“Esyklin is a cow’s head, a goat’s head, things I know nothing about. Illustrating what I don’t know is out of the question” Facebook When we consider the current state of our education, truly consider it – by moving past the record-breaking statistics and move to inspect them closely – we can see that education is still force-fed.
If the answers were in jest, then it is alarming that students have such little regard for their JSC scripts and respond in a jocular fashion.
However, the situation turns dire if it was not a joke, but an honest plea to the education minister.
If the student states their inability to comprehend middle school chemistry, physics, and biology, it is not to their discredit. It is the manner in which the education is disseminated. Textbooks are still as outdated and worded as ever. The latest revisions are still persistently bland, and lack the charm to genuinely inspire interest in science.
The person who posted the photos refused to disclose the identity of the student who wrote the answers, the teacher who provided the script for perusal, and the board division they were from.
The need for anonymity is imperative, but it pales before the state of our education, which can only be summed up as lamentable.
