According to a Facebook post by Moinul Khan, director general of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Sushanta has been attached to Customs, Excise & VAT Commissionerate, Rangpur.
The gazette notification also asked concerned officials to take adequate measures to provide Sushanta, an assistant commissioner of Customs, with psychological treatment.
Moinul, a former DU student himself, revealed that these measures were taken after NBR officials met with a team of DU student representatives in the evening.Earlier in the day, the university's world religion and culture department student Motakabbir Khan Provash filed the suit under the ICT Act with Shahbagh police station, Sub-Inspector Parvin Akhter told the Dhaka Tribune.
In the case, Provash claimed that his Facebook posts on Dhaka University and its residential students were defamatory.
“He wrote vulgar things about the female residential students as well as the university administration. I filed the case so that he is punished for his crime,” he added.
Earlier, Sushanta, who finished MBA from the Institute of Business Administration of Dhaka University, posted a status on his Facebook profile about the university and its student dormitories.
The post caused a stir on social media; DU students, both current and former, demanded cancellation of his certificate for “defaming the university.”
Facing such reaction, he later removed the post and posted another status apologising for it.
