Three Bangladesh Air Force personnel were killed and four others injured after their pickup vehicle lost control and plunged from an elevated roadway at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third terminal on Monday night.
The accident occurred around 10:20pm while the seven Air Force personnel were on duty, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Preliminary information suggests the Air Force pickup was travelling along a flyover on the second-floor level of the third terminal when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The pickup then fell from the elevated roadway to the ground below.
Three Air Force personnel died at the scene, while four others were injured.
ISPR Director Lt Col Sami-Ud-Doula Chowdhury confirmed the casualties to Dhaka Tribune.
The injured personnel were taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were also sent there for necessary procedures.
The identities of the dead and injured were not immediately disclosed.
It was also not immediately clear what caused the driver to lose control or whether any other vehicle was involved in the accident.
