Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) will extend the operating hours of MRT Line-6 by 20 minutes at night from Sunday
“As per passengers’ demand, which is growing fast centring the MRT Line-6, DMTCL has extended night-time services in both directions,” Metro Rail Public Relations Officer Mohammad Ahsan Ullah Sharifi said on Saturday.
Under the revised schedule, an additional trip will be introduced from both ends of the line.
The last train from Uttara North station to Motijheel will now depart at 9:50 pm, while the final train from Motijheel to Uttara North will leave at 10:30 pm.
Currently, the last trains depart at 9:30pm from Uttara North and 10:10 pm from Motijheel.
The country’s first metro rail began operations on December 28, 2022, on the Uttara North–Agargaon section.
The service was later extended, with full operations on the Uttara–Motijheel route beginning on December 31, 2023.
Construction of Kamalapur station is still ongoing, which will complete the MRT Line-6 corridor.
