Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Md Shariful Rahman Islam, has directed authorities to build separate “pink toilets" for women at sacrificial cattle markets under the DNCC area ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The instruction was given on Wednesday morning during a meeting with cattle market leaseholders and other concerned officials.
The administrator warned that action would be taken against anyone violating the lease conditions. He also said the city corporation would maintain strict monitoring to ensure cattle markets do not cause public suffering or traffic congestion in the capital.
He further instructed that waste generated at the markets must be removed daily to keep the environment clean and ensure smooth movement for the public.
Considering the convenience of women, the DNCC administrator also directed authorities to construct separate pink-colored toilets, named “Pink Toilets,” at every cattle market.
