Police have recovered two severed hands from beside Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and a severed leg from in front of the Scout building in the capital.
Authorities identified the body parts through fingerprint analysis as belonging to a man named Obaidullah. The leg was recovered around 2am on Saturday, while the two hands were found later in the morning.
Officer-in-Charge Mostafa Kamal Khan of Paltan Police Station said the two hands were discovered lying separately on the road between the mosque’s south and north gates. The severed leg was later recovered from the road in front of the Scout building.
He said after collecting fingerprints from the hands, police confirmed the body parts belonged to Obaidullah, a resident of Shibpur Upazila in Narsingdi District.
The recovered body parts have been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Efforts are underway to recover the remaining parts of the body.
