Biman launches direct Dhaka–Karachi flight

Biman will operate flights on this route every Thursday and Saturday

Biman Bangladesh Airlines launched direct flight on the Dhaka–Karachi–Dhaka route on Thursday, with the inaugural flight, BG-341, departing from Dhaka at 8pm.

The airline held a ceremony at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to mark the occasion. Sheikh Bashiruddin, adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Board of Directors, attended the event as chief guest

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, and Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddique, also attended the ceremony.

The inaugural flight will arrive in Karachi at 11pm local time on Thursday. Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate the return flight, BG-342, departing Karachi at 12:01am on Friday and arriving in Dhaka at 4:20am the same day. A total of 150 passengers flew on the inaugural flight.

Under the winter schedule effective from Friday, Biman will operate flights on this route every Thursday and Saturday. The airline will depart Dhaka at 8pm, reaching Karachi at 11pm, and leave Karachi at midnight for Dhaka, arriving at 4am.

With the launch of this route, Biman Bangladesh Airlines establishes direct air connectivity between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
