The body of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi arrived in Dhaka on Friday evening, officials said.
The flight carrying Hadi’s body landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:50pm. The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-385 had departed Singapore’s Changi International Airport at 2:03pm Bangladesh time.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines official confirmed the arrival.
On December 12, Hadi, who was in a rickshaw, was shot from a moving motorcycle in the Purana Paltan area of the capital. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was critically injured, and was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After undergoing initial surgery there, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital. Later, for advanced treatment, he was flown to Singapore by air ambulance on December 15. While receiving treatment there, Osman Hadi passed away last night.
