The first meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee of the Editors’ Council was held on Tuesday.
Nurul Kabir, editor of New Age, assumed the role of president on behalf of the new committee.
Attending the meeting were Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star; Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, editor of Manab Zamin; Matiur Rahman, editor of Prothom Alo; Shamsul Haque Zahid, editor of The Financial Express; Tasnim Hossain, editor of Dainik Ittefaq; Dewan Hanif Mahmud, editor of Bonik Barta; A.M.M. Bahauddin, editor of Dainik Inqilab; Rusho Mahmud, editor of Suprovat Bangladesh; and Nurul Kabir, editor of New Age. Md. Mozammel Haque, editor of Kartoaa, joined the session online.
During the meeting, outgoing president Mahfuz Anam was honoured with a crest by the Executive Committee members for his strong leadership and effective role in the council.
