Among fifteen students, injuries from panic, running, and jumping from rooftops during the earthquake at the University of Dhaka have led some to receive treatment and others to continue receiving care at Shaheed Buddhijibi Dr Mohammad Murtaza Medical Centre.
Sources at Murtaza Medical College Hospital said two female students are currently undergoing treatment for panic attacks. Among three students injured from jumping off rooftops, two were treated and sent home after receiving first aid, while one remains hospitalized.
Several other students suffered sprained ankles while rushing out of various residential halls after feeling the tremor.
Senior Medical Officer of Murtaza Medical Centre, Anhad, told reporters: "Many injured students are coming for treatment. Most received first aid and returned to their halls. A few have been referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”
