Update : 18 Nov 2025, 05:18 PM

The situation around Dhanmondi 32 in Dhaka remained calm on Tuesday, a day after clashes erupted in the area.

However, law enforcement agencies have deployed tight security, with police, army and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) present on the ground.

Police check-posts have been set up at both ends of the road in front of the demolished house of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

BGB personnel are stationed alongside the police, while army units are deployed directly in front of the house. The road in front of the residence remains completely closed to the public.

A few curious onlookers were seen near the area, but no protesters were present. Despite tensions on Monday, the situation is now reportedly calm.

The clashes began after the verdict in the International Crimes Tribunal case against Sheikh Hasina was announced.

A group identifying as supporters of the July Movement gathered at Dhanmondi 32 with two bulldozers, attempting to demolish the Bangabandhu Bhaban.

This led to repeated scuffles and chases with law enforcement forces, with tensions persisting throughout Monday and into the night.
