A crude bomb exploded at the gate of Shahbagh Chobir Haat beside Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Monday morning.
No casualties were reported.
The explosion occurred at around 9:55am, police said.
Shahbagh police station duty officer Sub-Inspector Rajib Chowdhury confirmed the incident at around 10:30am.
“We have received information about a cocktail explosion at the Shahbagh Chobir Haat in Suhrawardy Udyan. A team has been sent to the spot and they are working,” he said.
According to local sources, unidentified miscreants threw the crude bomb and fled immediately after the explosion.
Police are investigating the incident.
