Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the attack on an office in Pallabi, Dhaka, over a failed extortion attempt.
Pallabi police station Officer-in-Charge Shafiul Islam confirmed the development to Dhaka Tribune on Sunday.
Pallabi police arrested them on Saturday night based on intelligence.
The arrestees are Bappi, Mamun, and Raihan.
Shafiul said the investigation is at an early stage now.
On Friday, a group of armed individuals launched the attack around 5pm at the office of AK Builders, a real estate company located in Pallabi, after allegedly failing to extort Tk5 crore, according to company officials.
Police confirmed that at least four shots were fired during the attack.
Shariful Islam, an official of the company, was injured in the attack and admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital.
Mohammad Kaiyum Ali Khan, chairman of AK Builders, had previously reported extortion threats.
His son, Amimul Ehsan, told the media on Saturday that a man named Jamil had demanded Tk5 crore from his father three weeks ago.
He said that after they refused to pay the money, the attackers vandalized the office on two separate occasions, even taking away CCTV equipment.
