Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali on Tuesday said that any form of mob action will no longer be tolerated.
While responding to a question after attending a program at the DMP headquarters, he said: “Instigators of mob violence will be brought to book."
The DMP chief also said that action will be taken if any police officer is found guilty of mishandling a mob.
He added that one person has already been arrested from the mob that formed before the arrest of former chief election commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda at his residence in Uttara on Sunday evening.
The DMP chief also added that the process of filing a case in this regard is underway.
