Power Grid Company Bangladesh PLC (PGCB) reported on Sunday night that several areas of the capital are without electricity due to a fault at the Rampura grid substation.
PGCB Chief Engineer Mohammed Faizul Kabir told Dhaka Tribune that engineers from the company are working urgently to resolve the issue and it hopes that normal supply will be restored shortly.
According to PGCB, an unexpected technical fault occurred at the Rampura 230/132 kV grid substation at 9:50pm, disrupting electricity supply to parts of Dhaka.
Areas including Gulshan, Banani, Hatirjheel, Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, Rampura, Moghbazar, Segunbagicha, and Bakshi Bazar are experiencing outages due to the fault.
