Inqilab Mancha presented a 13-point proposal that includes demands for the immediate declaration and implementation of a July charter and trials for the July mass killings before announcing election schedules and national elections.

The press conference took place on Monday around 12pm at Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen.

At the press conference, Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi said that if reserved seat elections are held through women's votes, then all parties including Islamic parties will be compelled to engage in politics alongside women.

"If parliament doesn't become bicameral and elections are held in the previous format of 300 seats, then like before, thugs and strongmen whom local people fear will become MPs and then this (July) uprising will lose its value," he added.

He further alleged that some BNP members practice "neither Ziaur Rahman's nor Khaleda Zia's version of BNP and want to do India's BNP, want to stay in old arrangements and want to pit us against BNP."

"We want to remind them that on the Bangladesh question, as much as BNP belongs to Bangladesh, we belong that much to BNP," he added.

He said that they criticize BNP out of love and the July uprising happened with political parties, not under any party's leadership.

"So if elections are held without fundamental reforms by listening to any party, Dr Yunus will also not be spared," he added.

He warned that if the interim government holds elections holding the uprising's spirit, then they are with the government, otherwise, they will call for an election boycott and 50 million people of this country will prepare for the next mass uprising.

He also announced that if the July charter is not declared by June 25, a "Red March" program will be organized that afternoon from Shahbag towards Manik Mia Avenue.

The first proposal by Inqilab Mancha calls for declaring the historical struggles of 1947, 1971 and 2024 along with all martyrs as the state's greatest sons, ensuring permanent rehabilitation for disabled July warriors, canceling the elections of 2014, 2018 and 2024 and bringing fascist-era officials to trial while confiscating their illegal assets for martyrs' welfare.

They also demanded trials for alleged state-organized genocides including July, Pilkhana and Shapla massacres.

The platform further demanded protecting national sovereignty against all foreign aggression including Indian hegemony, implementing fundamental state reforms to prevent future fascism and autocracy, declaring August 5 (Mentioned as July 36 too) as National Liberation Day and formulating plans for an anti-discrimination welfare state.

The proposals also calls for constitutional amendments to remove anti-people clauses and include the July Charter in the constitutional schedule.

The platform also demanded inclusive participation and transparency, ensuring fair representation of all parties, opinions and genders that participated in the July uprising, presenting the July Charter in simple language accessible to the general public and publishing the charter online for public feedback before finalizing.
