Authorities took film actor Nusraat Faria to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) office on Sunday after initial questioning, following her arrest at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport earlier in the day during her attempt to leave the country.
An officer of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), requesting anonymity, confirmed the matter to the press.
Earlier, around noon, Nusraat Faria had gone to the airport to travel to Thailand, but she could not.
A case was filed against 17 actors, including Nusraat Faria, for the alleged attempted murder of a student in the capital's Vatara area during the July uprising last year.
According to sources, following her arrest in the attempted murder case, Dhallywood actor Nusraat Faria was taken to the DB office for further questioning.
The case documents state that Nusraat Faria is accused of financially supporting the Awami League and taking a stance against the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Notably, Nusraat Faria played the role of Sheikh Hasina in the 2023 film "Mujib: The Making of Nation," a biopic of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
