Supporters of BNP leader Ishraque Hossain have announced a blockade program at Nagar Bhaban for Monday, demanding that he be sworn in as the Dhaka South City Corporation mayor.
The announcement was made on Sunday by former secretary Moshiur Rahman during a sit-in at Nagar Bhaban, now on its fourth consecutive day.
As part of the program, a blockade around Nagar Bhaban and its surrounding areas has been announced, set to begin at 11am.
Meanwhile, the protesters at the sit-in, around noon, marched from Nagar Bhaban towards the Secretariat to press for their demand.
The procession passed through Gulistan, the Secretariat, the National Press Club, and Shikkha Bhaban before returning to Nagar Bhaban to continue the sit-in demonstration.
