Ishtiak Hossain, who threw a bottle towards Information Adviser Mahfuj Alam, has been released after preliminary interrogation.
On Friday, the adviser spoke with him and his family at the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) office. After the discussion, the adviser invited him to visit his home once the protests are over.

During the protest that day, Adviser Mahfuj Alam came to the university campus to speak with the protesting students. At one point, tensions rose, and a student threw a water bottle at him. Later, law enforcement identified the accused student, Imtiaz Hossain, and detained him.
