RSU condemns killings at Gaza, demands clear stand from govt

RSU demanded the interim government's clear 'stand' on the issue of Israel attacking the Middle East during the ceasefire

Update : 19 Mar 2025, 11:05 PM
Revolutionary Student Unity (RSU) condemned the killings during the ceasefire in Palestine’s Gaza, along with attacks in Syria and Yemen, and demanded a clear stand from the interim government regarding this issue at a gathering.

RSU, Dhaka Mahanagar, organized this gathering at the capital’s Central Shaheed Minar around 7:30pm. The gathering marched to Raju Memorial Sculpture after the speech.

RSU leaders claimed that 'imperial' and 'capitalist' powers are never able to bring 'peace' to human lives, referring to Israel attacking during the ceasefire and ceasefire treaties being 'forced' treaties, without any 'democratic' attitude.

Jabir Ahmed Jubel, General Secretary of Revolutionary Student Unity, stated that 'ceasefire' was in 'effect' through the 'mediation' of several countries' political powers in Palestine and Israel.

"The ceasefire was unilaterally broken through betrayal and deception by that Zionist state, which conducted bombing raids under the cover of darkness," Jubel added.

Sami Abdullah, General Secretary of Revolutionary Student Unity, Dhaka University unit, stated that in the Israeli 'aggression,' we saw yesterday that they have once again attacked various places, including Syria, Yemen, and Gaza, even after declaring a ceasefire in 2025.

"They have violated this ceasefire," he added.

Toyob Islam, President of Revolutionary Student Unity, Dhaka Mahanagar, stated that recently there was a 'peace' treaty between Israel or the US and the Middle East.

"Now the war is still continuing, breaking the treaty," Toyob added.

RSU also demanded the interim government's clear 'stand' on the issue of Israel attacking the Middle East during the ceasefire.

Jubel urged the interim government to make a clear 'stand,' referring to them as the government formed through a mass uprising. He also urged the interim to raise a clear 'voice' against American 'imperialism.'

One of the protesters demanded that the road where the US Embassy is situated be named after Ghassan Kanafani, a Palestinian author and politician, to clarify the interim government's stand on this issue.

Comparing the Chittagong Hill Tracts with a jail, Jubel asked the interim government to 'raise' its voice against the government, state, and army that are 'responsible' for this situation.

"Otherwise, we will assume that you (interim) do not embrace the spirit of the Mass Uprising," Jubel added.

Referring to Bangladesh expressing its stand 'supporting' Palestine's cause at various times, Sami Abdullah stated that in this post-uprising time, the state has no 'clear' position, 'supporting' Palestine or 'opposing' US 'imperialism' and Israel.
