A total of 5,500 volunteers will work with the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to create public awareness to prevent the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes ahead of the rainy season, said DNCC Administrator Mohammad Azaz.
“There is no alternative to public consciousness in mosquito control. So, we will give the highest importance to raising public awareness,” he said on Monday while speaking at a roundtable meeting held over preventing dengue.
Besides, modern mosquito-killing traps will be set up in public spaces under Dhaka North City Corporation, he said.
It also tested the effectiveness of the insecticides in neutral labs of DNCC, he added.
