The University of Dhaka administration has formed a probe committee to investigate the harassment of a female student by Mostafa Asif Arnab, an assistant binder at the university library.
The three-member committee is chaired by Assistant Proctor Rafiqul Islam.
The other members include Assistant Proctor Shehrin Amin Bhuiyan and the Deputy Librarian of the Central Library.
They have been instructed to submit their report within the shortest possible time.
Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, the university’s proctor, confirmed the formation of the committee on Thursday.
He said: "The inquiry committee will analyze video footage of the incident, interview both the victim and the accused and take all necessary steps to uncover the truth."
He added: "Based on the findings, the university syndicate will determine the appropriate course of action. The accused will not be allowed to continue his job during the investigation.”
