Four people died after a fire broke out at "Saudia," a residential hotel in Bashatala, Shahjadpur, on Monday.
The victims' bodies were found inside a bathroom on the sixth floor, with the staircase door locked, according to Talha bin Jasim, the station officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
The fire started on the second floor of the six-storey building around noon, and the fire service control room was alerted at 12:17pm.
In response, two firefighting units were dispatched to the scene, said Rashed Bin Khalid, duty officer at the control room.
They were able to bring the blaze under control by 1:03pm.
