The hanging body of a Supreme Court lawyer has been found in a house in Kalabagan, Dhaka.
The deceased, Titus Hillol Rema, 55, was recovered by the Kalabagan police on Saturday morning.
After legal procedures in the afternoon, the body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy, as confirmed by Sub-Inspector (SI) Nandan Kumar Das of Kalabagan police station.
He said that the lawyer's wife had left for work in the morning, leaving their two daughters at home.
Unbeknownst to the family members, the lawyer hung himself with a rope tied to a fan in his room. Later, when the family members discovered it, they informed the police.
According to family members, Titus Hillol Rema had been facing financial difficulties for a long time. It is initially suspected that he took his own life due to despair.
However, an investigation is ongoing to determine if there were any other factors involved in his death.
Titus Hillol Rema was the son of the late Livingstone Rema, from Joyramkura village in Haluaghat, Mymensingh district.
He was living on Crescent Road in Kalabagan at the time.
