Processions of activists from various areas converged around the launch event of the Jatiya Nagorik Party on Manik Mia Avenue on Friday.
Since noon, activists have been gathering to join the assembly.
Family members of martyrs and wounded fighters from the July uprising will take part in the party’s inauguration ceremony.
Additionally, people from all 64 districts are expected to attend, while leaders from various political parties, diplomats and prominent figures have also been invited.
The party has apologized for road closures, saying one side (north side) of Manik Mia Avenue—from Aarong Mor to Khamarbari—will remain closed for the launch of the new political party, aimed at establishing people's rights under youth leadership.
The committee has urged everyone to use alternative routes.
