Members of the Bangladesh Outsourcing Employees' Welfare Association have blocked the road in front of the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka, demanding permanent employment.
They staged the blockade around 3pm on Saturday, causing severe traffic congestion in Paltan, the Secretariat, and surrounding areas.
The demonstrators are demanding the regularization of jobs for all employees working under outsourcing projects in government and autonomous institutions.
They have also warned that they will not leave the road until their demand is met.
