Dhaka residents experienced a brief moment of relief in the dusty, grey city life, as a sudden rain brought freshness and calmness to the capital on Tuesday evening.
The sun was not visible in the morning. Fog covered Dhaka and other parts of the country.
However, as the day progressed, the fog began to dissipate and the sun appeared. The temperature also started to rise as the day went on.
In the evening, scattered clouds appeared in the sky, followed by a brief rainfall that refreshed the city.
The rain provided a bit of relief to the city dwellers who had been enduring both the heat and the dusty air.
At around 7:55pm, rain started in various parts of Dhaka.
Other areas of the country also experienced rain on this day.
Earlier in the morning, the weather department said the fog was due to a combination of dust particles in the air and moisture coming from the sea. It was not cloud cover.
There was a high-pressure system in the sea, which also created the possibility of rain.
That possibility became a reality as evening arrived.
