The fire that broke out at a building in Islambagh, Lalbagh, in the capital, has been brought under control.
Eight units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence together brought the blaze under control.
Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Official Anwarul Islam confirmed the incident on Saturday afternoon.
He said: “The Fire service received information about the fire at 3:17pm. Within eight minutes, the first unit reached the scene at 3:25pm.”
"Eight firefighting units brought the fire under control around 4:27pm," he added.
A total of eight units, including two each from Lalbagh Fire Station, Hazaribagh, Palashi, and Siddikbazar, were deployed to tackle the fire.
"The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and no casualties have been reported so far," said the fire official.
