The students of the seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) have said that their protests will not stop unless DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education), Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed, publicly apologizes for his inappropriate behavior towards them.
The protests, sit-ins, and blockades will continue until a reasonable solution is reached.
The students made these remarks while blocking the Science Lab intersection on Sunday night.
Earlier, from 6:30pm, the students had occupied the roads, causing a halt in traffic on these important roads.
At the same time, students from the seven government colleges also blocked roads at the Technical intersection and Tantibazar.
They complained that when they went to meet the DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) to discuss issues regarding the seven colleges and the reduction in the number of admission seats, he treated them rudely and asked them to leave the room.
He claimed to know nothing about the issues concerning the seven colleges, which the students found highly condemnable.
They said that unless the DU Pro-Vice Chancellor publicly apologizes to the students on the streets, the roadblocks will not be lifted.
Additionally, they demanded that their five-point demands be fulfilled by the end of the night.
