Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam has instructed on-duty doctors to perform their duties with professionalism, sincerity and dedication to enhance the quality of services at the Central Police Hospital.
He highlighted the need to modernize the hospital to meet contemporary standards.
On Tuesday, the IGP made these remarks during a meeting with doctors, officials and staff after visiting various departments of the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh, Dhaka.
It was shared during the meeting that the Central Police Hospital provides medical services to an average of 4,500 police personnel and their family members daily.
Additionally, around 1,500 police personnel collect pathological reports every day.
Last year, 712 operations were successfully performed in the ophthalmology department, along with 6,467 surgeries across other departments.
The IGP inspected several hospital departments, including digital healthcare service processes (registration, OPD, consultation, medicine storage, and report delivery), emergency services, radiology and imaging, ICU and dialysis units.
During the visit, he observed the service delivery process for police personnel and their families and provided necessary guidance for improvements.
The IGP also listened to the doctors' feedback and thanked the doctors and nurses for their service in providing healthcare to police personnel.
