Sarjis Alam, secretary of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation and chief organizer of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, has announced that an office for the foundation will be established in each division.

This initiative aims to ensure that the families of those killed or injured do not have to travel to Dhaka for financial assistance.

He made these remarks at a press conference held in front of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Additionally, measures will be implemented to prevent any mistreatment of these families at the foundation's offices.

If any misconduct occurs, strict action will be taken against those responsible.

Sarjis Alam said that, according to government data, the number of martyrs in the July movement is 826.

Of these, families of 628 martyrs have received assistance, leaving 198 families yet to be supported.

He also presented the current financial status of the foundation.

"The bank account had a total of 1.09 billion. So far, 473.2 million has been disbursed as assistance, and approximately 610 million remains in the account," he said.

Regarding the injured, Sarjis Alam mentioned that out of 11,306 injured individuals, only 1,601 have received support.

"We requested a list of the injured from the government, which they provided. For transparency, we require medical documents from hospitals verified by doctors for injured individuals seeking assistance. This is to prevent fraudulent claims, as there have been attempts to misuse the system by submitting forged medical documents."

He further said that this month, martyr families will receive a significant financial grant of 3 million each, as declared by the government.

He also acknowledged allegations that some individuals seeking benefits were not directly involved in the movement.
