The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate has said remarks by Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) Aminul Islam to journalists about Thursday's Secretariat fire incident are entirely his personal opinion and not the Bangladesh Navy's.
In a press statement, the ISPR said that at 11am, a seven-member team led by Aminul Islam, was deployed to the Secretariat fire incident.
During this time, Aminul Islam gave a statement to journalists about the fire, which was entirely his personal opinion, it added.
The statement does not represent the official position of the Bangladesh Navy, the ISPR said.
