The "July Revolutionary Alliance," a volunteer organization, has released a list of 92 individuals killed in Dhaka's Uttara area during the July-August movement from July 18 to August 5.

The list was unveiled at a press conference on Saturday  at the Friends Club field in Uttara Sector 3 by the organization’s spokesperson, Fantasir Mahmud.

He said: "Among the 92 martyrs in Uttara—25 were students, 19 were employees, 10 were businesspeople, 5 were vehicle or rickshaw drivers, 2 were mosque imams, 1 was a doctor, 11 remain unidentified, and 19 fall under other categories."

Fantasir also mentioned that the list might expand further.

Fantasir Mahmud said, "With no government support, this list has been published through our own efforts. To preserve the memory of the July revolution, we are working on developing a website. This platform will feature a nationwide list of martyrs and injured individuals, along with documentaries highlighting their stories."

At the same time, family members of those killed in Uttara expressed their concerns. They said that if the new Bangladesh, achieved at the cost of so many lives, cannot be built beautifully, it would be a failure of the nation. They urged the government to take the initiative to honor the sacrifices of the brilliant students who were martyred and ensure their contributions are remembered by the nation.
