A group of protesters under the banner of "Bangladesher Jonogon"  held a demonstration in front of the headquarters of The Daily Star, accusing the newspaper of aiding Indian aggression.

The protest began during Jummah prayers on Friday in the capital's Kawran Bazar area. According to the demonstrators, the program was organized as a stand against alleged Indian aggression.

Protesters claimed that both The Daily Star and Prothom Alo have played direct roles in supporting Indian aggression and crafting "Shahbagi narratives."

They alleged that these newspapers portray devout Bangladeshi Muslims as militants, leading to their decision to hold the program in front of The Daily Star.

On-site, a group of protesters led by Gonodhikar Parishad leader Tarek gathered on the footpath in front of The Daily Star.

Their banner read: “To resist Indian aggression, slaughter of cows at the Prothom Alo-Daily Star feast.” The protesters carried placards with other anti-aggression slogans.

Law enforcement agencies had deployed a significant number of personnel in front of The Daily Star headquarters to ensure order and security.

Earlier, on Thursday, a similar demonstration was held under the same banner in front of Prothom Alo's headquarters in Kawran Bazar.
