Police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman, approximately 65 years old, from a footpath near the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital.
On Friday, around 3:30pm, the woman was found unconscious and was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the attending doctors declared her dead.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Imam Hossain of Shahbagh police station confirmed the incident.
He said that upon receiving the information, the police retrieved the unconscious woman from the Shaheed Minar area, and she was later declared dead at the hospital.
The woman’s identity is still unknown, and efforts are underway to gather further details.
Legal proceedings are ongoing, according to the police official.
