In celebration of the interim government's decision to ban the Chhatra League, Jagannath University (JnU) students have planned a mega feast for Friday.
The registration fee has been set at Tk120, students announced on Thursday.
To facilitate participation, students have organized on-site registration at the university's Shanto Chattar, with an option for online registration as well.
The feast will feature beef and mutton tehari as the main food items.
Regarding the event, JnU student Masud Rana said: "For a long time, we have demanded the banning of the fascist and anarchic organization, the Chhatra League. Yesterday (Wednesday), that wish was finally fulfilled, and we are overjoyed. To celebrate this happiness, we are organizing the mega feast tomorrow (Friday). The food will include beef tehari for Muslims and mutton tehari for Hindus."
Tousif Mahbub, a political science student, said students are organizing this feast to express their joy at the Chhatra League ban.
"Their oppression had made the lives of Bangladeshis miserable. However, with the ban enforced yesterday, their cruelty has finally ended. Both current students and alumni have contributed financially to this event."
The government banned the Chhatra League on Wednesday, labeling it a terrorist organization.
