The administration of Dhaka University has established a five-member committee to investigate the incident involving a black hijab placed on the head of the female statue at the Raju Memorial Sculpture on campus.
On Tuesday, the Proctor’s Office announced the formation of the committee through a notification.
According to the announcement, the incident occurred on the night of Sunday when the female statue in Raju Sculpture was found draped in black cloth.
The committee has been tasked with uncovering those responsible for the act and submitting a report.
Assistant Proctor Professor Dr Md Rabiul Islam has been appointed as the convener of the investigation committee.
Other members include Assistant Proctor Muhammad Mahbub Kaisar, Dr Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Dr AKM Noor Alam Siddique, and Dr Shantu Barua.
The committee has been instructed to complete its investigation and submit a report within ten working days, identifying those involved in the incident and providing recommendations for further actions.
