A Dhaka court on Monday placed former expatriates' welfare and overseas employment minister Imran Ahmad on a three-day remand in a case lodged over human trafficking and embezzling Tk24,000 crore by creating manpower recruiting syndicates.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehera Mahbub passed the order as police produced Imran before the court and pleaded to place him on a 10-day remand in the case.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Imran Ahmad from the capital's Banani area on Sunday.
Altab Khan, the proprietor of Afia Overseas filed the case with the capital's Paltan Police Station on September 3 against 103 people including Imran Ahmad.
