A fish trader was killed after being struck by a train in the Karwan Bazar area of Dhaka on Sunday evening.
The deceased was Nur Nabi, 40, hailing from Govinda Sri village in Netrakona’s Madan upazila.
According to a fellow worker, Jewel Kabir, Nur Nabi was crossing the road when he was hit by the train.
They rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 7pm.
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the police outpost at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said the body has been placed in the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The incident has been reported to the police station concerned, he added.
