A court has granted a seven-day remand for former Jatrabari police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Hasan, arrested in a case filed over the death of a student during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Jatrabari.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Arifur Rahman granted the remand order on Thursday after a hearing.
Teknaf police arrested Abul Hasan on Monday.
According to the case details, student Sakib Hasan died from gunshots and assault on July 18 during the student movement on Kajla Bishwa Road in Jatrabari.
His relative, Abu Bakkar, filed the case with Jatrabari police station on September 2.
